Make Your
Own Stamps
It's a known fact that kids love to scribble and draw.
Moms are all too familiar - and exasperated - witnesses to
haphazard crayon scrawls on walls and tables. What better way to
channel this creative energy than to create your own stamps.
Best of all, you can share in the fun of creating them.
Of course, kids projects are only one of the many reasons that
individuals choose to make their own stamps. Some are looking to
make art stamps,
while some may even venture into making their own
postage stamps.
Our site is filled with information on

If you're looking to get stamping right away, we'll start you
off with one of the most easy (and fun) home made stamping
projects - chances are you'll have all these items already in
your home!
1.)
To make your own stamps, you will need a nice big potato, a
pumpkin carving (or any dull-edged) knife, a stamp ink pad, and
paper.
2.) To start, chop the potato in two equal halves. These will
be your "stampers."
3.) Next, use the knife to carve on the flat top
of each stamper of your chosen design. Simple designs like
'smileys' or common shapes like hearts and stars are easy to do
but if you're up for the challenge, you can try making a bear or
any animal. The beauty of all this is the variety of designs in
which you (and you children) can choose from. Just be sure that the
section which you carve your design on to is elevated, so that
the stamp ink will stay there.
4.) After you are done with the
carving, test your creation by dipping it into the stamp pad ink
and then affix it into a clean paper.
5.) Presto! -
Your own homemade Stamp.
